Cedar Garden Trellis Plans
Free printable cedar trellis plans — the exact 48″ × 60″ cut list, materials and tools, ten-step build, and custom-size formulas for the cedar garden trellis project.

These printable plans accompany the cedar garden trellis project — the same 48″ × 60″ cedar frame with a centered ½″ table-saw groove that captures black PVC-coated welded wire. Keep them in the workshop and build the same structure step by step.
What the Plans Include
- An exact 48″ × 60″ cut list — stiles, rails, optional top cap and battens, and the welded-wire mesh panel size, with quantities and notes for every part
- A full materials and tools list, from the 1×4 cedar boards and PVC-coated welded wire to staples, screws, washers, and exterior finish
- A ten-step assembly workflow that matches the build video, from rough-cutting the mesh to installing the finished trellis on a raised bed
- Custom-size formulas with a worked example, so the design scales to any size trellis
- Build tips and safety notes, plus a QR code that links to the step-by-step YouTube build
Before You Build
- Tools: a miter or chop saw for crosscuts and 45° miters, a table saw for the centered ½″ groove, a drill/driver, a stapler or screws with washers, wire cutters, and a random-orbit sander
- Prep: sand through 120 then 180 grit and finish with a UV exterior oil or spar urethane; pre-drill near the miter tips so the cedar doesn’t split
- Time: a one-afternoon project — the full guide estimates about three hours
- Safety: gloves for cutting the mesh (file the sharp ends), eye and ear protection, and push sticks at the table saw
